The newly-formed Oconee Street UMC men’s group worked Saturday, Feb. 8 to restore the Oconee Street parsonage.
The first step in an ongoing project was to clean the home, which was built in 1960 as a parsonage and was most recently used as a headquarters for Action Ministries, who moved last October to First Baptist Church in downtown.
UMM members Lew Allen, Jamie Calkin, Chase Cook, Joe Dennis, Jim Hanula, Rick Martin and Joel Siebentritt worked on phase one. Among the tasks: steam cleaning carpets, washing windows (interior and exterior), cleaning cabinets, removing window air conditioners and replacing wood in areas.
