LGBTQIA+ Justice

Oconee Street UMC members voted unanimously on Sept. 15, 2019 to join Reconciling Ministries Network and join a growing number of affirming congregations that advocate for full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people into church life and removal of discriminatory language from the United Methodist Church’s Book of Discipline.

We table at Pride events, host the annual Reconciling Ministries worship service for the North Georgia Conference RMN, advocate for LGBTQIA+ policies and practices, host educational and service events to raise awareness and advocacy for inclusive and affirming practices.
