J.D. Burnett is a conductor, singer and teacher.
Originally from New York, he earned his music degrees at Oklahoma State, Westminster Choir College, and the University of North Texas. He has held academic, community, and church music positions in Texas, New Jersey, California, and now Georgia, where he serves as Associate Director of Choral Activities and conducting area chair in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia.
He is also Artistic Director of Kinnara, a professional chamber choir based in Princeton, NJ and Atlanta. He lives in Athens with his partner Brandon (also a musician) and their dog Nesbit, a vizsla.
